体长：18～28厘米（雌）、19～49厘米（雄）
体重：14～30克
俗名“蛇尾巴雀”“练雀”“梁山伯与祝英台”。寿带是非常美丽的鸟儿，雌雄都长着羽冠，雄鸟有栗红色和白色两种，白色的雄鸟尾巴更长，也更机警、老练。它们常两雄一雌三只鸟儿共同活动，其中雄鸟红白各一。寿带飞行较慢，飞行时雄鸟的长尾如风筝飘带般翻飞摇曳，非常悦目，这也让它们成为国画家们的爱物。夏天，寿带在沟谷、溪流附近的阔叶林中安家筑巢。它们的巢常筑在树或竹的枝桠上，十分精巧，像个酒杯。繁殖期的寿带有很强的“领土观念”，会立即驱赶进入领地的同种或异种鸟儿，非常勇猛。有人曾目睹一对寿带攻击并成功驱逐了一只来到巢穴附近的红翅凤头鹃。

画眉科Picathartidae
