体长：19～22厘米；体重：32～50克
俗名“四喜”，像缩小了一号的喜鹊。雌雄成对活动，雌鸟的毛色发灰，雄鸟则黑得发亮，还常将尾羽高高翘起，几乎要碰着头。它们的歌声婉转悦耳，常被人笼养用以观赏。鹊鸲是重要的食虫鸟，爱吃蝇蛆及蝇蛹，所以得了个不雅的名字——“屎鸦雀”。繁殖期的雄鸟为争夺雌鸟，会变得十分好斗。它们的巢筑在树洞、墙洞、屋檐缝隙和树叉处。每窝大多产5枚卵。
