黑龙潭有“滇中第一古祠”之称，位于昆明市北郊龙泉山五老峰脚下。《汉书·地理志》记载，益州郡滇池县西北有黑水祠。清代云贵总督阮元考证云：“滇池县有黑水祠，盖此地也，或者唐梅宋柏之间为故址，龙神庙乃下迁者。”“汉黑水祠”四个大字，据说是阮元书写的。
