Jane Austen，an English w riter，was born in Steventon，Hampshire，where her father was a rector.Jane Austen was mostly tutored at home，and irregularly at school，but she received a broader family education than many women of her time.She started to w rite for family amusement as a child.Her parents were avid readers.

She began her w riting career at the age of twenty，and published six novels in all her life.Sense and Sensibility in 1811 was her first novel，later she published three more novels：Pride and Prejudice in 1813，Mansfield Park in 1814，Emma in 1815.The last two，Northanger Abbey，and Persuasion that were signed the author's real name，were published in 1818，a year after her death.

At a dancing ball，it is obvious that Mr.Bingley，the rich neighbor who is still single，could not help falling in love at the first sight with Miss Jane because of her stunning beauty.Mrs.Benne was so excited that she could not hold her manner and declared publicly she would have a daughter married soon，which frightened Mr.Bingley away.

Mr.Darcy，who is too proud and whom Elizabeth overhears refusing to dance with her，finds himself attracted to Elizabeth despite his objections to her family.Elizabeth is instead attracted to Wickham who tells her that Darcy is a cheater.She believes Wickham's words without a question，disliking Darcy even more.(www.xing528.com)

Elizabeth's young sister is cheated by Wickham and leaves home.Mr.Darcy offered the money and did everything departing from his will just because he loved Elizabeth so much.He could not hide his feelings any more and showed his affection to Elizabeth at last，who，because of a series of misunderstandings towards him，rejected him without hesitation.

伊丽莎白的妹妹受威克汉姆所骗，还为其离家出走。事后达西主动出钱帮其还债，而在此之前，他绝不愿意做这样的事情，但因太爱伊丽莎白，他愿意为她不顾一切。终于，当他再也不想隐瞒自己的感情，鼓足勇气向伊丽莎白表白时，伊丽莎白因对他误会太深，断然拒绝了他。

This plot is the climax of the novel as the prejudice of Elizabeth to Mr.Darcy was exposed and removed since then.And the combination of the two young couples，Jane and Bingley，Elizabeth and Darcy came at last.

小说情节的高潮是伊丽莎白消除了对达西的偏见。最后彬格莱和简、伊丽莎白和达西这两对有情人终成眷属。

Comment：Austen's novels in the early 19th century swept away the false romantic fashion trend，inherited the splendid tradition of realismin the 18th century.They prepared for the climax of the realism novel in 19th century.
