一个人的感恩节加州大冒险

过了半个月，又有了一个假期！这个时候你大概会觉得我们学校假期好像很多的样子。其实在美国每个州都有规定学生一年上课的课时数，所以不管学校怎样安排假期，大家上课的总时间其实都是一样的。我们学校各种各样假期多，可能就是因为我们周六上午也有一上午的课的原因。总之，感恩节在美国算是挺隆重的节日了，所以放假的前两天，全校学生一起在食堂吃了饭，主要就是吃火鸡。不过特别的是服务员不是学生，而变成了老师！平时熟悉的老师穿着白色的制服，端着大盘火鸡过来，感觉真是很特别。同学们也都很兴奋。餐厅中间还有学音乐的同学们搭了个台子演奏，很是热闹。

这个感恩节，我决定去加州一个阿姨家住几天，她是我爸妈的朋友，由于她一直在国外生活，我从来没有见过她。要一个人去那么远的地方找一个不认识的人，还要在她家住十天，还是很有挑战性的。先和阿姨发邮件说好联系方式和地址，然后下午就乘学校的车去机场了。这里有一个小插曲，就是我早在一个月前订机票的时候，因为是第一次自己订，不小心看错了月份，选错了时间，后来又费了好大工夫打电话给航空公司改回来的，所以订机票这等大事一定要小心。话说回来，我已经到了机场，我订的票是一个从来没听说过的小航空公司，从哪里找地方领登机牌呢？来之前的行程全都不用自己操心，从来都是跟在大人身后走就行了。到现在突然没人告诉我该怎么办了，还是有点恐慌的。找了好几个人问，总算是问出来，顺利通过检查上了飞机。可是六个小时的飞行之后，一下飞机，我又傻眼了！那个阿姨说我坐机场的super-bus去她家就好了，可是哪里有super-bus啊？出了机场虽然找到了站牌，但是看上去既没人又没车，冷冷清清的（这时候半夜23点多）我抓了个保安就问，结果黑人大叔告诉我要再等半个小时。寒风瑟瑟啊，怕错过车又不敢进机场候机厅里面等。好不容易等来了车，简直就跟见到了救星一样冲上车，告诉驾驶员地址后，我就倒在座位上睡着了。感叹独自在异地漂泊的孩子伤不起啊，这也就是为什么我不喜欢一个人旅行的原因了。

在加州被阿姨盛情邀请到迪士尼和环球影城去玩了一趟，已经没什么新鲜感了。给我印象深刻的倒是很巧的一件事！阿姨的弟妹家也去了一个中国留学生女孩在她家住两天。有次聚会，她弟妹一家带着那女孩一来，我瞬间就惊呆了！那个女孩居然就是如如！世界真的太小了！后来我们一起去参加了好多他们感恩节的聚会（都是华人聚会，所以说其实这些移民的国人大多是混在华人圈子里的）。我发现了一个有趣的现象，尽管所有中国家长带来的都是纯中国孩子，没有混血儿，大家凑在一起的时候居然都在说英文。家长们虽然一直讲中文还教孩子中文，可是不知道为什么他们兴趣不大，英文还是脱口而出。我和如如相视无言，听着两种语言，突然觉得我们和这种从小就在美国长大的小孩子们真的是太不同了。

10.California dream

Anotherbreakcame after half of a month.It seemed like we got a lot of breaks in this school.In fact,every state in the US has a law about how many hours a student should be in class.So,however schools arrange their vacations,the hours of the courses are the same for everyone.Thanksgiving is a pretty important holiday in America so two days before the break students had a sit-down dinner together to eat turkey.The waiters were teachers instead of students.It was a different feeling when the teachers we familiar with came to us with white uniforms and held roasted turkey.Students were excited with a stage in the middle of the KDU;the student band in school started their show and gave us a perfect dinner.(www.xing528.com)

I decided to stay with a friend of my parents in California.I had never met her before because she lived in America my whole life.It was a challenge for me to travel a long way and live with a stranger for ten days.I had her contact method and address and took ThomasTransportation to the airport.Actually,something happened before I left with my fight ticket.One monthbefore,I booked a fight to California by myself.At that time,I chose the wrong month.Then I had tocall the airline and change the dates,which was a diffcult process on phone.I was really careful when I booked other tickets later.When Iarrived the airport I did not know where to check-in because I bought the ticket from a smallcompany.I always followed others before and never paid attention to where I was going.Now I was totally lost and panicked.I spent time ask where check-in was and somebody told me there was only self check-in service at this airport.Finally,I fnished checking-in by myself and

boarded the airplane.After six hours,another problem came.The woman whom I was going to live with just told me to take a super-bus to her house,but where was the super-bus?I went outside of the airport in California and found the bus stop,but no one was there and it was 11o’clock at night.A guard told me that I had to wait for another half hour.It was cold but I did not want to miss the bus,so I had to wait in the howling wind.This was the reason I hated travelling alone.

I went to Disney and Universal Studios again but they were not as fun as the frst time.The most exciting thing for me was that I met another Chinese girl lived with my host’s sister during Thanksgiving.We met in a party and I found out she was Patty!We went to a lot of Thanksgiving parties together and met some Chinese children that grew up in the US.Even though their parents thought them Chinese all the time,they spoke English to each other and disliked Chinese.Patty and I could not understand their thought.We could just say that a different environment changed people a lot.
