该外教的语法课分为以下六个步骤。
Step One:教师板书too/either两个生词,这两个词的区别学生并不知晓,教师也没有解释,而在too下面写了一个is,在either下面写了is的否定形式isn't。然后,用相同的形式写出一些助动词和情态动词的肯定形式,要学生说出否定形式。这一步就使学生有了too用于肯定句,either用于否定句的清晰概念。板书如下:
Step Two:Join the two sentences.
教师先呈现两个句子:The girls are playing.The boys are playing.
示范转换句型。➝The girls are playing.And the boys are,too.
然后呈现多组句子,让男女生比赛:
1.Water is man's helper.Fire is man's helper.
➝Water is man's helper.And fire is,too.
2.I haven't finished my work.She hasn't finished her work.
➝I haven't finished my work.And she hasn't,either.

Step Three:Make sentences with “too”and “either”.让学生根据实际情况造句,自己独立思考,将语法规则运用于具体实例中。学生们出乎意料地造出了许多精彩的句子。
Step Four:呈现“so”and“neither”。(这两个都是生词,但教师也没有解释,呈现形式同Step One)
Step Five:Join the two sentences.
教师呈现两个句子并示范:
1.David is a boy.Jack is a boy.➝David is a boy.So is Jack.
2.David isn't a girl.Jack isn't a girl.➝David isn't a girl.Neither is Jack.

Step Six:Make sentences with “so”and “neither”.
起初学生对两组词的运用有些困难,容易混淆,对be动词、助动词的单数形式也经常用错,但随着练习的增多,老师和同学的提醒,错误渐渐地减少了。从不懂“too”“either”和“so”“neither”到能运用它们造句,课堂似乎施加了某种魔力般的神奇。
