【摘要】:在学生八年级第一学期时,教师在课堂上指导学生学习由笔者主编的义务教育课程标准泛读教材《常春藤英语》四级上“The Two Goats”。7They then began to push and fight with their horns,till at last their feet slipped,and both the goats fell into the swift flowingstream,and were lost in the waters!教师运用以上4个问题指导学生看图做出预测、推断。教师的问题旨在培养学生对文章中的细节的理解力,如问题I、Ⅱ;能判断的思维能力,如问题W;根据文章进行推断的能力,如问题Ⅲ。

在学生八年级第一学期时,教师在课堂上指导学生学习由笔者主编的义务教育课程标准泛读教材《常春藤英语》四级上“The Two Goats”。

The Two Goats

1 On a wild mountain,two goats met on a ledge(1)just over a high cliff(2).The ledge was so narrow(3),that there was neither room for them to pass each other nor to turn round and go back.A steep(4)rock rose straight above them—a deep dark chasm(5)lay below!What do you think the two goats did?

2 One of them with great care laid himself down on the narrow ledge,pressing(6)as close to the rock as he could.Then the other goat gently(7)and softly(8)stepped over his friend,till,safely past him,he could lightly(9)bound away.

3 The goat that had lain down then drew himself up from his lowly place,spring(10)again from rock safe and sound(11),free to spring again from rock to rock,and crop the sweet grass on the hills.

4 Two other goats had left the valley(12),and climbed far up the mountain.At length they met on the banks of a wild,rushing stream.A tree had fallen across the stream,and formed(13)a bridge from the one side to the other.

5 The goats looked at each other,and each wished to pass over first.

6 They stood for a moment with one foot on the tree,each thinking that the other would draw back(14).But neither of them would give way and they met at last on the middle of the narrow bridge!

7 They then began to push and fight with their horns,till at last their feet slipped(15),and both the goats fell into the swift flowing(16)stream,and were lost in the waters!

8 Both might have been saved,if either of them had known how to yield(17)at the right time.(289w)

一般说来,笔者让学生围绕以下几个方面来进行阅读和思考:grasp the main idea;see the result,evaluate the information,give the reason,understand the main idea,note the reason;check the details,note the fact,draw a conclusion等阅读微技能来培养学生的阅读素养。

3.教师指导学生阅读并测以下单词、词组的意思。

Read for words:

Choose one best paraphrase or Chinese meaning for underlined words or expressions.

What can you learn from the story?

Two other goats met on the banks of a wild,rushing stream.A tree had fallen across the stream,and formed a bridge from one side to the other.The goats looked at each other,and each wished to pass over first.They stood for a moment with one foot on the tree,each thinking that the other would draw back.But neither of them would give way and they met at last on the middle of the narrow bridge!They then began to push and fight with their horns,till at last their feet slipped,and both the goats fell into the swift flowing stream,and were lost in the waters!

In my opinion both might have been saved,if either of them had known how to yield at the right time.And I think yielding plays an important role in getting on with other people.
