解决英文句子缺乏连接词的问题

只用逗号来连接两个独立子句,而缺乏任何连接词,也是错误的英文句子。 例如:

缺乏连接词的句子可以用4 种不同的方式来修正:

①把逗号改成句号:The samples were dipped into the etching solution． They were then washed with a chemical cleanser．

上面4 种修改方式,第4 种方式最恰当,最能清楚地表达两个子句之间的关系。 在连接词(also, consequently, furthermore, however, moreover, otherwise, then, therefore, thus)前面或在连接两个独立子句的转接片语(for example, in contrast, in fact, on the other hand)前面,都必须加上句号或分号。 通常这类字词后面都紧跟逗号,然而hence, otherwise, then,therefore 及thus 这些字词则常常不跟着逗号,尤其当后面的子句很短时更是如此。 例如:
