8.2.1 Minimalist style 简约风格
The silhouette and structure of clothing are not very complicated; the adornment and detail designs are scarcely used（Figure 8-2）. “Less is more” is its design principle.
服装的廓型和结构精炼，装饰和细节设计尽量简化（图8-2）。“以少胜多”是它的设计原则。

8.2.2 Chinese traditional style 中式传统风格
The design inspiration of this style comes from Chinese traditional culture and arts, or Chinese folk arts（Figure 8-3）. The mandarin collar, slanting front, edge binding, Chinese frogs and traditional embroideries have become the symbols of Chinese traditional clothing culture. Some auspicious patterns, like peony, lotus and orchid are also its cultural icons. Nowadays Chinese traditional style clothing design is frequently presented in both domestic and international designers'works.
这种风格的设计灵感来自中国传统的文化和艺术，或中国民间艺术（图8-3）。立领、偏襟、绲边、盘扣和传统刺绣已经成为中国传统服饰文化的代表性符号。一些吉祥图案像牡丹、莲花和兰花也是其文化象征。现如今中式传统的服装设计频繁地出现在国内外设计师的作品中。

8.2.3 Neutral style 中性风格
This style of clothing obscures the gender difference between male and female, that is, women's clothing has some characteristics of men's clothing. Designers may use some elements of men's clothing in their design.Neutral style clothing is basically unadorned using simple forms and plain colors.
这种风格的服装减弱了男女之间的性别差异，也就是说，女装具有男装的一些特征。设计师可能会在设计中运用男装的一些元素；中性风格女装基本上无装饰，形式简洁，色彩朴素。
8.2.4 Casual style 休闲风格(www.xing528.com)
Because casual style clothing is worn comfortably and practically, it is very popular in our modern life. Relative to the clothing worn on formal or working occasions, it has less limitation in design.Therefore, it has plenty of design motifs and forms. Designers can search various inspirations to create these works.
因为休闲风格的服装穿起来舒适且实用，在现代生活中非常流行。相对于在正式或工作场合穿着的服装，它的设计受限较小。因此，它有着丰富的设计主题和形式。设计师可以寻找多方面的灵感来创作作品。
8.2.5 Romantic and extravagant style 浪漫奢华风格
This style of clothing generally refers to the haute couture or evening dresses worn at formal parties or ceremonies. Designers will use delicate fabrics and adornments to design them; and some parts of the clothing also need to be made manually.Ladies will look graceful and captivating when wearing these clothes（Figure 8-4）.
这类服装一般是指穿于正式宴会或典礼的高级时装或晚装。设计师会运用精致的面料和饰品进行设计，有些服装的局部还需要专业的手工制作。穿着这类服装的女士优雅而迷人（图8-4）。

8.2.6 Avant-garde style 前卫风格
When designing avant-garde style of clothing, designers often use exaggerated or even strange forms and peculiar materials to express their unique design ideas. Such clothes usually have a strong visual impact so they are very attractive（Figure 8-5）. Young people are fond of wearing them since they consider these clothes able to show their individuality.
设计前卫风格的服装时，设计师经常运用夸张甚至怪异的形式和奇特的材料，来表达他们独特的设计理念。这类服装通常具有强烈的视觉冲击力所以非常受人瞩目（图8-5）。年轻人尤其喜欢穿，并以此来展现张扬的个性。
